mindful self compassion course

Let’s face it: life is a roller coaster! The only way to contently ride it is by allowing your flawed self to thrive amongst uncertainty, doubt, regret and shame. Recognising your inner critic and listening more closely to your inner voice. You can only achieve this by being kind and compassionate to yourself.

What can be achieved by practising Mindful Self Compassion?

When practising mindful self-compassion, you gain the awareness of our auto-pilot mode, creating a productive conversation with the “self '', which allows you to befriend your imperfect being, just as it is!

Giving that awareness the space of self-compassion, allows you to be kind and gentle to your being and your ongoing experience: no blame; not taking this one so seriously; not shouldering regrets or shame.

The ultimate outcome is fierce compassion, towards oneself and others, by:

  • Gaining self-awareness
  • Breaking free from habitual patterns
  • Clarifying own values and core beliefs
  • Setting and defending personal boundaries
  • Being of true service to others
  • Clear discernment of family culture
  • Letting go of personal ties with compassion & acceptance

All of which will lead to greater compassion, increased personal confidence and inner peace, enabling you to lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

How does it work and what to expect

Purpose

In this course, you will learn to connect with your own heart and with others’ in a compassionate way so that you can lead a prosperous, meaningful life.

We are committed to ensuring you feel seen, heard and supported along this empowering journey.

Program structure

The MSC Curriculum is designed to move participants from a conceptual understanding of mindfulness and self-compassion to a felt sense of those concepts, and to provide tools for evoking mindfulness and self-compassion in daily life and making this evocation a habit.

The sessions (8 in total) have been carefully sequenced to build upon one another. Each session includes brief didactic topics, followed by exercises that give participants a visceral sense of the subject, and then by inquiry-based exploration of the participants' direct experience.

Participants are encouraged to be experimental in choosing and adapting the practices to their own needs, and to become their own best teachers, scientists working in the laboratory of their own experience.

What our participants say...

"2 years ago I started a practice of Mindful Self-Compassion Meditation with a wonderful teacher, and someone who has become a lifelong friend Jorge Magalhães Nunes.

This ongoing practice has had a transformational effect on my life, my mental health and my work.
Since starting this practice I feel a deeper connection firstly to myself, but also to those around me. My relationships are where this is most noticeable. I’m able to engage better, be more compassionate and know when and how to set boundaries.
Being more aware means I’m also more aware of my own prejudices and flaws, but allowing myself to be more compassionate towards myself means that I can see clearly the things that I can change, and be accepting of the things I can’t.
Mindful self compassion has proven to be the best tool in my arsenal and I would encourage anyone who is interested in meditation, mindfulness and self-mastery to check out this upcoming event."
